International Adopt a Community Program
Throughout the world there are many locations where people are forced to live in extreme poverty with no real chance to increase their standard of living through any currently available means. In extreme cases these individuals may not even have safe drinking water let alone proper shelter or health care. Until the basic necessities such as drinking water, food and shelter are provided one can not even think about education or designing and developing a system for local self-sufficiency.
The International Adopt a Community Program (IACP) is designed as a program to coordinate and provide “total” support for economically suppressed communities with a long term goal of helping them reach a state of self-sufficiency. This “total” support includes:
Drinking Water
Food
Shelter
Health Care
Infrastructure
Education
Self Sufficiency
This support will be a combination of coordinated support from other charities and agencies as well as direct support from the IACP.
IACP will work with local governments and charities to identify communities that meet preset criteria in Mexico, Central and South America. It should be noted that IACP will have no religious tone what-so-ever and will not assist in any religious activities or accept any support from religious agencies. IACP is strictly geared towards helping communities to achieve a level of self-sufficiency within preset standards irrelevant of any religious beliefs.
Once a community is “adopted” IACP will assign a coordinator to the community that will be responsible for developing a localized plan to reach self-sufficiency and achieving these goals. The coordinator will work with local governments to develop this plan if there is an efficient local government system; otherwise the coordinator will work directly with the people of the community to develop a long-term plan to help the community reach its goals. The IACP coordinator will then be responsible for carrying out the plan and working with all involved parties. |
